With all this, you should have a rather quick process. Just delete the corresponding ones in the extrude object and move the modified ones in the extrude objects. The modified layers should be back into their respective smart folders. Once done, save the modified layers and go back to your opened C3D file. Suppose you are not happy with this first rendering of your model, then just keep C3D open and go back to A.I to do your modifications. The purpose of the smart folder is just to avoid later to have to manually reselect layers to reload them since the Extrude object doesn't "see" ( yet ? Martin ? ) the spline inside the smart folder. Once the layer is loaded, move it out of the smart folder back into the Extrude object. Include in each Extrude object, a smart folder and load 1 A.I layer. Open C3D and create as many Extrude objects as your nb of layers. create as many layers/paths as needed in A.I and export them as individual files. To make the process easy and quick, here is how I would do it :

I think the easiest way to do what you want is to : So, you already have your vectors with the SVG files. I did find another post where you mention importing as pdf (this worked better for me and I was able to extrude) but when importing as a pdf it treats the entire network as one object which is problematic as i need to be able to color nodes and edges as part of the animation. one of the visualizations involves introducing an impulse on a node and watching the waveform propagate through the network. I would like the lines to act as springs for animation purposes (e.g.

The SVG is a social network graph and I need to be able to import several of these and turn them into 3D objects (although really they'll be 2d planes extruded and overlaid onto of some 3D environment scenery. Your example helps, but I was hoping for a scriptable solution (programmer/designer by trade).
