Relapse is Em's most creative and experimental album. This album took me years to fully appreciate. Still though, I love what Slim himself did on here. There's also too many skits on this album. Dre only produced 3 tracks, and a lot of this was recorded before Em signed to Dre, and you can tell. I know this dropped in 1999, but comparing it to other classic albums at the time, this one sounds a lot more dated. There was a point in time where this was my favorite Eminem album, however, over the years, I found myself returning to it less and less due to the amateurish production. I love the storytelling on this album and I think this album has a great charm to it. This was before Em took on the angry controversial persona, and instead was making funny yet dark songs. Slim manages to be comically dark, disturbing and oddly relatable. I think this is one of Em's most creative albums as it completely explores Slim Shady's character. SSLP is no exception, I love this album, It's great. Now I know I may be called crazy for putting this at #5, however I must preface, every album from this point on are albums I love. It seems like he's having fun over newer and improved production with artists he wants to work with, which is cool with me. Despite this, being over 20+ years into his career I think that this a good album for Em at this point in time. I think if this album was shorter, around 14 songs long it could've been great. It's one of those albums that when I listen to it I'm like "okay, this is pretty good" but they aren't enough standouts that make the entire album memorable. While there are a few terrible tracks such as Farewell, In Too Deep and Stepdad, the vast majority of the songs are just decent. This album contains a lot of great songs such as Darkness, You Gon Learn with Royce and Lock It Up with Anderson Paak. Despite the fact that it's lower on the list, I don't think this is a bad album.

This album is based around the Alfred Hitchcok album with the same title, however this project unfortunately doesn't really stick to that concept.
